Owner distribution
An owner distribution is the payment a property manager sends a property owner or investor from the money collected on their property, after the management fee, any withholding or reserves, and expenses are accounted for.
The typical flow
- Rent is collected for the period.
- The management fee is applied.
- Withholding and reserves are set aside per policy.
- Approved expenses are deducted.
- The remaining balance is distributed to each owner by their ownership share.
When properties have multiple owners, the distribution splits by ownership percentage. AXYS resolves this automatically each cycle and routes each payout to the owner destination, recorded against the property.
How often are owner distributions paid?
Monthly is common, but the cadence is set by the manager and the management agreement. Some pay as rent clears; others batch on a fixed date.
