ACH rent payment
An ACH rent payment uses the Automated Clearing House network to move rent electronically from a tenant’s bank account to the landlord or manager’s account. It is the bank-to-bank alternative to paying rent by card.
ACH vs card
- ACH usually costs less to process than cards, which makes it well suited to recurring rent.
- ACH typically settles in a small number of business days rather than instantly.
- Cards can be more convenient for one-off charges and application fees.
AXYS accepts rent and charges by both card and bank (ACH), with each payment recorded against the right property and lease and funds settling into your AXYS account.
How long does an ACH rent payment take to clear?
Typically a few business days from initiation to settled funds, depending on when the payment is submitted and the banks involved.
Can an ACH rent payment bounce?
Yes. A payment can be returned for non-sufficient funds (NSF) or other reasons after it appears to post. Most returns arrive within about two banking days of settlement.
